About

Who we are

Bluebird Behavioral Solutions is comprised of a passionate, experienced group of practitioners dedicated to the ABA field and our families. The children and adults with whom we work are more than just clients, and we affectionately refer to them as our birds. We are Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians committed to providing the individualized services that promote the growth and development our birds need. Bluebird is a small, local practice, which allows us to provide an exceptional amount of focus to each of our families and make sure that everyone is receiving the attention and care they deserve. Our group is both BCBA-owned and BCBA-operated, and we function as a collection of committed therapists.

We provide our services in the home and community settings because that is where it is needed most. This also ensures that the skills our birds learn generalize to all environments, and mastered skills aren’t limited to sessions. There is a great deal of emphasis on parent training to equip caregivers with the tools to succeed outside of therapy. We take pride in our work, our methods and our amazing group of birds!

L. Brooke Pfeiffer M.Ed., BCBA, LBA

Owner, Executive Director

Brooke founded Bluebird as an individual provider in 2015 with the mission to provide ethical, personalized therapeutic services on a small scale. She received her Master’s in Special Education with a concentration in autism and applied behavior analysis from Texas State University in 2011. She has experience working in school, clinic and home settings, and believes that home and community services affect the greatest change. Brooke has worked with clients of all ages and has a particular passion for the underserved adult population, fueling her commitment to provide ABA services across the lifespan. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys trail running and spending time with her twins, pup and chickens.

Tom Maby, M.S., BCBA, LBA, IBA

Clinical Director

Tom has served as Bluebird’s Clinical Director since 2022. He has worked in various ABA settings including clinic, in-home, prison and schooling systems. His ABA journey started in 2014 as an RBT and provided him with opportunities to work across multiple settings and age groups. His diverse experience has led him to roles as Clinical Director and Chief Operations Officer. As a BCBA and Clinical Director, he enjoys fostering growth and learning as a staff mentor while overseeing the progression and cultivation of our clients and their families. Orchestrating and developing Bluebird’s strict adherence to excellence and individualized care has been of paramount importance during his time with the company. When he isn’t working, Tom enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing and grilling.

Erin Nutt, RBT

Practice Manager

Erin has been with Bluebird since 2017, starting as one of our first RBTs before transitioning to lead RBT and Practice manager. She has worked with children and adults with differing abilities for eight years in school, clinical and in-home settings. As a Registered Behavior Technician, she enjoys building relationships with our clients and their families and tackling any challenges that are presented. Upholding Bluebird’s commitment to making meaningful changes has been a vital part of Erin’s role within the company. She enjoys facilitating a structured and coordinated environment to help all of our clients succeed. In her free time, Erin loves playing pool, listening to podcasts and petting her cats PJ and Meatloaf.

Clinical Team

Our amazing clinical team includes several BCBAs with experience across all life stages and an unwavering passion to help our birds. We are also fortunate to have an absolutely wonderful group of RBTS, all with a year or more of experience before joining Bluebird and a desire to learn and grow within our field.

Birdie Pfeiffer

Therapy Pup (in training)

After the loss of our first therapy pup, sweet Wilhelmina, we welcomed Birdie into our ABA family in 2022. Birdie is currently working through her series of training classes, and is expected to officially join our ranks as a certified therapy dog in late 2024. Willa left an indelible legacy and Birdie certainly has large paws to fill, but we have no doubt she’ll be another wonderful Bluebird staff member!

Letter From The Director

Someone recently asked me to tell him why I’ve chosen this profession without describing my job. I told him that I feel fortunate that I know how to help a remarkable group of people and that I find immeasurable joy in doing so. Coming into loving homes and lives that are often marked by chaos and frustration is a privilege and an honor. I have witnessed extraordinary growth and gains to the extent that I am constantly in awe of the power of quality therapy. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to bring support, hope and light to those homes.

I am passionate about ABA because I believe it creates the type of change that improves the world. I am passionate about Bluebird because it allows me to improve my piece of it here in Austin.
